Degree in Mathematics at the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1989. PhD degree in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Oviedo in 1994. Professor at the University of Oviedo since 1991 and formerly at the University of Vigo, between 1989 and 1991. His main interest is the classification and unfolding of singularities. In particular he is interested in understanding the role of singularities as organizing centers of dynamics (chaotic, synchronized…) in real-world applications (neuronal networks, ecological models…).
