Ricardo Anadón

Short bio

I was born in Vigo (Spain) the 15-05-1950. I have the Degree in Biology in the Universidad Complutense of Madrid in 1972, and the PhD in Biology in the same University in June 1977. I was granted in the Marine Research Institute (IIM) of the Spanish CSIC in Vigo, as well in the University of Oviedo. In 1982 I was appointed for Assistant Professor in Ecology in the Dep. Biología de Organismos y Sistemas of the University of Oviedo, and in 1987 I was promoted to Professor in Ecology in the same University.

I have worked in estuarine sedimentary ecosystems, in rocky intertidal communities and on biological oceanography, with a special interest in heterotrophic processes mediated by zooplankton, and interactions between physical processes and biological responses. My current research interests include long term changes in marine and costal environments, marine ecosystem responses to Climate Change and sustainable marine resource use.
